Ann Bombard Cordick, 95, of Dry Bridge Road, Au Sable Forks, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 29, 2020.

She was born in Au Sable Forks on April 5, 1925, the daughter of Mose A. Bombard and Rose Fryans Bombard.

Ann attended Holy Name School for grades 1-8 and in 1938 entered Au Sable Forks Central Rural School from which she graduated in 1942. She then entered New York State College for Teachers in Albany, N.Y. from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1946 and a Master of Arts degree in 1952. She later did graduate courses at the University of Buffalo, Syracuse University, and S.U.N.Y. Plattsburgh.

Her first teaching assignment was at Constableville, N.Y. where she taught English and Latin. She began teaching at Peru Central School, Peru, N.Y. in September 1947 where she continued teaching English and Latin. In September 1960, she became a guidance counselor for grades 7-12 which she continued until she retired in 1986.

On December 20, 1947 Ann married William H. Cordick, Jr. at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks. Their only child William David Cordick, was born on January 28, 1953.

Ann was an active member of Holy Name Church an served as a lector for thirty years. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters and the Altar Rosary Society, as well as a member of the Clinton County Advocacy and Resource Center and was a member of the Board of Directors for more than thirty years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the New York State Retired Teachers, and the Champlain Valley Council of Retirees.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband in 1972, and her son Will, in 2014. She is survived by several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name Church, Au Sable Forks, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery.

Memorials may be made as Masses or to the Clinton County Advocacy and Resource Center, 231 New York Road, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901.

Services were entrusted to Thwaits-Zaumetzer Funeral Home, Au Sable Forks.

My Mom Ruth Havens Morrison is Ann's cousin. When I was growing up and even later on in life my Mom would share stories of visiting her Aunt Rose and cousin Ann.

I am so sorry to hear of Ann's passing.

Ann was a true inspiration to all that knew her. I had the honor of working for her as a teen. She was always full of wisdom and good advice Ann was an outstanding Mother to her Son Will, she devoted countless hours as his and others advocate for people with special needs RIP sweet lady, rest at last.
